We can’t believe this year has flown by so quickly and that it’s almost time for our favorite holiday, Halloween! We’re looking forward to loads of jaw-dropping and hair-raising ideas from our fantastically creative community.

How to Enter: Transform yourself (or your kids, husband, wife, dog, etc.) with the most impressive Halloween costume you have ever created.
Email your project(s) with the words “Chickadee Halloween 2011” included in the title by October 23rd at midnight (EST). Only projects with the full phrase included will be considered for this competition!
Voting: Voting will be open from October 25th until midnight EST on Sunday, October 30th. Vote for your favorites via our FACEBOOK PAGE. All eligible entries will be featured in the slideshow!
- First place winner will be chosen by our Chickadee community, via the voting slide show, and will score a $100(USD) Gift Certificate.
- Second place will also be chosen by the Chickadee community and will win a $50(USD) Gift Certificate.
- One lucky winner will be chosen as FAVORITE via the slide show to take home their own BERNETTE 46 Sewing Machine.
This competition is open to all of the Chickadee Shop’s community, no matter where you sew!

Beginning Quilting $15/session

Learn the basics of quilting! Take just 1 session or take them all.
Session 1: Intro to quilting tools, reviewing the pattern, using a rotary cutter and rulers.
Session 2: Review Seam Allowances, begin piecing your quilt top
Session 3: Complete quilt top
Session 4: Sandwich, quilt, & bind.

Women of Courage BOM will bring us incredible stories of women from our past who have made a difference in our world. Our BOM includes the pattern and fabric to complete the 98” x 98” Quilt Top. Fabric is from Nancy Gere’s Women of Courage collection for Windham Fabrics. Designed by Denise Lipscomb of Common Threads.

Come and learn the basic features of your sewing machine. We will make a Table Runner and Place mat.

If you can make a zig-zag stich on your sewing machine, then you can learn to create bowls, placemats, and coasters. We are going to coil and sew ordinary utility cording into a neat bowl. Class fee includes a choice of hand-dyed cord. Bring a spool of your favorite variegated thread.
