Come and join us for an evening to work on projects, socialize, ask questions, and just have some fun!

Learn the basics of quilting!  Take just 1 session or take them all. 

Session 1:  Intro to quilting tools, reviewing the pattern, using a rotary cutter and rulers.                                                          

Session 2:  Review Seam Allowances, begin piecing your quilt top                                        

Session 3:  Complete quilt top                   

Session 4:  Sandwich, quilt, & bind.

Women of Courage BOM will bring us incredible stories of women from our past who have made a difference in our world. Our BOM includes the pattern and fabric to complete the 98” x 98” Quilt Top.  Fabric is from Nancy Gere’s Women of Courage collection for Windham Fabrics.    Designed by Denise Lipscomb of Common Threads.

Come and learn the basic features of your sewing machine.  We will make  a  Table Runner and Place mat. 

 

Hand Dyed Bowls                      $25

Taught by: Jean Paty   Class size limited to 6          

Thursday 8/23                             6pm-8pm

If you can make a zig-zag stich on your  sewing machine, then you can learn to  create bowls, placemats, and coasters.  We are going to coil and sew ordinary utility cording into a neat bowl. Class fee includes a choice of hand-dyed cord.  Bring a spool of your favorite variegated thread.

Get Started with Sewing $35

Saturday 7/14, 8/11 1pm-3pm

This crash course will get you comfortable with using a sewing machine, whether you're brand new to sewing or just need a refresher course. You'll learn the basics of threading a machine, winding a bobbin, straight stitching, back stitching, zig-zag stitching and other key topics. All materials will be provided, including fabric, thread, scissors, and pins. You'll even leave with a finished project!

You must bring your own sewing machine, pedal, and power cord, along with a few extra bobbins and the manual, if you have it. All other supplies will be provided.

Bernina Dealership

SOOO....

I have spent the last month researching Bernina and I am thinking that we may bring a dealership to our shop with an onsite Tech Repair guy...or as I like to say...Berninaman...

I have gotten so much great feedback from our instore customers and through Facebook, it seems like Gainesville is ready for a Bernina dealership. 

If we choose to go with the dealership, we will have a week in Chicago for training and the machines will be in store in May.

We have our apron class - which is a carry over from our December class schedule and then a 4 patch beginner quilt class.  This class is going to be offered in the daytime and at night!
